I (Green Spirit, as a person - haven't dared to reveal myself yet!) started Spirit Account as a way to bring people back to the world of old Facebook webgames.
Though, it never started like that back then.
Back in late 2022, I was came upon the Angry Birds community, which had it's fair share of ups and downs.
But I just loved messing around with the Angry Birds games and that's it.
Time elapses, I was getting pretty bored of that stuff as usual. Until...
Angry Birds Refresh - a revival of the former-webgame, Angry Birds Friends was released in January 2023.
It lived for a while, until it suffered the fate of Rovio's DMCA one month later.
Then, a private source code of the fan-game's branch was sort-of leaked on purpose by the project's creator, ultra0. I was interested, and decided to snatch it to mess around, as usual...
Summer comes by, and it goes without a saying, I had fun with it with some friends in a private server.
I really had fun messing around the game's internal components that I basically became friends with it :)
And if you didn't know, it later became the current Angry Birds Refresh you see today. (I mean, I'm one of the developers on the credits, you can't miss that!)
But I had a bigger vision for more. So in December 2023, I created Spirit Account, based off the original user system off of the Angry Birds Refresh account system I had.
It wasn't until early 2024 where it was officially released as an public alpha test, as well as release my already familiarized game, Angry Birds Friends, along with other Angry Birds webgames.
A few months later, Tetris Battle was released and it thrived like never before.
Since we are bringing back old Facebook webgames for the future to play, we're gonna need YOUR help.
If you did play an old Facebook webgame (example: Zuma Blitz or You Don't Know Jack Facebook) on an old PC that you haven't used ever since the game's death and NEVER cleared the browser's cache that you played it on, please consider opening a DM (Direct Message) for thegreenspirit (me) on Discord!
You can also DM other members of The Green Spirit in the Spirit Lair Discord server (marked as the Spirit Developers or the Spirit Lair Guard role), it doesn't have to be me!
Another way to help is that you can also try to find the game's URLs/domains or where they were hosted.
Find every way to get a working server, either by searching through a crossdomain.xml in the main domain where it was hosted, looking through the Wayback Machine, do whatever it takes to find a working one.
Of course, you can take breaks here and there, but finding a working one with full assets is like a treasure mine. Feel it...
Finally, we have made up a list of wanted games that needs to be found in it's full form in order to revive them, you can see it at the #sa-targetted-games channel in the Spirit Lair (linked above).
Your contribution is what matters most to this whole thing. Thank you if you helped in any way possible!
